Etheremon: About the Platform
Etheremon players can own and train Ether Monsters (Mons) who can then explore game sites and gain tokens that can be further exchanged.
Etheremon runs on ETH but additionally the team is developing EMONT Frenzy game which uses Zilliqa as a utility chain. This project is leveraging the Zilliqa blockchain developer grant, the amount of funding is undisclosed.
The Ethereum Monsters
Users can purchase Mons in the game store (Level-1 Mons) or from other players. Mons then develop as they are trained and can explore game sites to reap tokenized rewards and lay eggs.
Most kinds of Mon are limited in supply and trained Mons are even more scarce, which suggest players can trade advanced Mons for profit.
Players are also incentivized to form teams and battle against other teams.
Etheremon: Token Promotion & Results
The Etheremon game uses two types of tokens.
ERC-721
Mons and Adventure sites (released September 2018) and other items in the game are ERC-721 tokens. ERC-721 is a standard for non-fungible tokens (NFT) which are stored on the ETH blockchain and controlled fully by the player. This standard is typically used for collectible assets because every issued token is unique.
The ERC-721 digital assets can be traded in-game or via a cryptoasset exchange with ERC-721 support.

ERC-20
The in-game currency is an ERC-20 compliance token (the EMONT token). Players earn EMONT by battling other players, training their mons and selling them. In-game engagement such as battling or training effectively mines the EMONT token the players then collects as reward.
The supply of EMONT is capped at 20 million tokens.

There was an in-game asset token sale in May-June 2018 which also succeeded to promote Etheremon in the gaming community. The official Twitter @myetheremon has nearly 4K followers by September 2018 with a large spike around the in-game asset sale.

Previous Controversy
In December 2017 along with the first wave of popularity for Etheremon also emerged community criticism of the way the Etheremon smart contract was written.
The original version of the contract gave permissions to modify players’ assets to the admins, essentialy making the game centralized. These problems were successfully addressed in updates.
Etheremon team commented to this: ,,We actively seeked advice from the community to implement the change as well as seeked external audit support. We implemented the change ourselves though.”
The Business Intelligence for Etheremon
Etheremon is a project of Etheremon company located in Singapore with office address at 28D Dover Crescent, Singapore, Singapore 134028.
Etheremon is also a founding member of the EMONT Alliance, a practical initiative for blockchain gaming platforms. The ethos of the alliance is such that blockchain-based games are superior to traditional games since in decentralized gaming the player has full ownership of their game assets which cannot be seized or altered by anybody.
The EMONT Alliance was recently joined by the Japanese blockchain game MyCryptoHeroes developed by double jump.tokyo.
Investing in Etheremon
The Etheremon game is fully released and operational but the interaction with players is an important part of the team’s strategy.
Before new releases, Etheremon organizes a small-scale token sale for their players to help fund the development of new in-game assets. This is easily possible since all in-game assets are Ethereum tokens.

In June 2018 there was a token sale where the new Adventure game sites were divided among players who paid for them in ETH. The incentive for the investment was a passive stream of income from the interaction of other players with the site, which as every in-game engagement mines EMONT tokens.
The Adventure game mode was developed during summer 2018 and successfully deployed in September 2018. There are plans to add more game sites in the months to come which may come with a similar opportunity.
