Zilliqa : About the Platform
Zilliqa is the scalable and secure blockchain for hosting decentralized applications, promising throughput of nearly 3000 transactions per second.
The main business fields Zilliqa is looking at are digital advertising, gaming and remittance.
As the first step in their strategy, Zilliqa is focusing on getting developers join their platform to create a base network of users who create dApps on the blockchain. They announced sponsorship of interested developers via grant funding in summer 2018 to attract as many users as possible.

The Zilliqa Blockchain Sharding
The Zilliqa platform develops its own blockchain, the first blockchain that implemented the technology of sharding to enable increasing throughput as the network expands.
The Zilliqa blockchain currently runs on testnet where also the Zilliqa dApps are being built.
The Zilliqa token sale and ZIL trading runs on the Ethereum blockchain at the time of writing.
The New Smart Contract Language Scilla For More Security
To address the security issues of smart contracts, the company is introducing a new smart contract language called Scilla. It eliminates some of the known vulnerabilities of smart contracts directly at the code level by imposing a novel structure on the contract code.
The Scilla codebase is open-source and available for reviews and contributions at Github.
Among the contract security issues addressed are funds leaking, unexpected changes to critical state variables or having the contract killed by a third party. This is a reactive approach to the known problems with some smart contracts on the Ethereum platform.

Zilliqa : Token Promotion & Results

Zilliqa organized a public token sale in 2017 and had several rounds of venture funding.
The funding campaign was fully completed in January 2018, raising 22 MM USD on total from the public sale and investments from strategic partnerships.
The lead investors in some of the funding rounds were NEO Global Capital and FBG Capital.
The social media presence @zilliqa is strong at nearly 50K Twitter followers and follows natural patterns of genuine acquisition.
